them find a killer. our justin surrency has the latest on the investigation... he joins us first on 13 with the latest... justin? students, faculty, staff and family members of emma-lee jacobs are still in shock after the 18 year old was killed while walking on campus monday morning...while they all hope for justice...police say the circumstances surrounding the hit and run crash aren't helping them get very far in the investigation... what was once just a busy crosswalk navigating students and faculty at iowa state university...has turned into a sobering memorial... "i prayed our father and ave maria." around 7 a-m monday morning... in the intersection of lincoln way and ash avenue...police say 18 year old i-s-u student emma-lee jacobs was suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a car and died at a local hospital the driver fled the scene... "we really believe that at some point someone saw something and

guilty to charges of attempted murder and going armed with intent. he was charged with first degree murder. investigators say turner stabbed 29- year-old tad foster during a drunken fight over finances last february. mentally ill. the judge sentenced turned to 30 years behind bars. fort dodge authorities rescued a this morning... then cuffed him and took him into custody. police say they received 38-year-old harry carvalho... was walking in traffic on kenyon road bridge... when they approached him... carvalho took off running and jumped in the river. he eventually grabbed a branch being offered by first responders. that's when they realized carvalho was an escapee from a residential correctional facility. tonight.. he's back behind bars. law enforcement along with school and city officials decided to close all l-a schools today following a bomb threat. at least one school board members received the threat via email. authorities decided to keep more than 640-thousand from

naz mitrou-long and head coach steve prohm announced this afternoon that the senior guard is out as he continues to recover from the hip surgery he had during the off season. mitrou-long had surgery on his left hip in april...and his right hip in may. he managed to play the first eight games of the season...but has decided it's time to rest due to persistent discomfort. mitrou-long will seek a medical redshirt. he and coach prohm will talk more about the decision tomorrow at noon. drivers who use fleur drive will have to use the detour through the weekend. the raccoon river is expected to crest late tonight and then begin to recede. gano says he's glad the precipitation didn't fall as snow. he says it would have cost up to a million dollars if that system would have dropped 24 to 48 inches of snow. gano didn't estimate an exact cost...but say this flood will cost thousands of dollars to clean-up.
